Girls Soccer League - An era of empowered girls:
From Netball to a Girls Soccer League!
After four seasons of an engaging Netball League primary for girls, the calls were clear. Girls wanted to play football/soccer and not be limited to netball. They prefer soccer because:
- Soccer is a more popular and visible sport in the country – they wanted to be part of the buzz.
- Soccer offers more chances of the girls being scouted for schools bursaries.
- Soccer brings the girls on equal footing with the boys – they are equal genders.
And of course many other reasons. We listened and said yes.

The Girls Soccer league will continue to the deliver the same objectives as the Netball League set out to do including:
- It promotes community building & skills development
- It empowers girls and attracts attention and support towards the league and local community economic development.
- Moreover, it facilitates cultural dialogue on the role of women and towards gender equality. In this way breaking down cultural barriers.
- We also run health education programs that promote overall well-being in the community.

Why we started the Netball League
Having succeeded with the Soccer League, the demand for similar activities for girls and young women grew stronger. So, we started with netball, and like the soccer league, the benefits are numerous.
